Learning Connection's reputation as the leader in independent continuing education has made its way into the Washington Post! Below is an excerpt from the article and a link to the full story.
"...But as competition increased and their baby-boomer clientele aged, the independent organizations shut down or were subsumed by organizations such as parks and recreation programs, Coates says (Julie Coates, vice president for membership services at the Learning Resources Network, an international association of lifelong learning programming and parent organization to Learning Connection). Where there were probably 25 to 35 urban independents in the 1980s, Coates knows of fewer than 10 operating today, and, with Leopold retired, only one — the Providence Learning Connection in Rhode Island — is considered a leader in the field."
