Fun Fused Glass Workshops
Enjoy the excitement of glass in these easy, fun classes near Pawtuxet Village. Create beautiful fused glass pendants and bowls. No experience necessary.
What will we use to make the glass pieces?
- Colorful glass from sheets of glass
- A variety of powder and frit made from crushed glass
- Thin steel and copper wire and mesh
- Fiber paper
- A pen that permanently fuses onto glass
What will we make in the introductory four-week class?
- Fused glass pendants
- Three-inch sushi dishes
- Six-inch fused glass bowl
- Dichroic glass (which appears to have two colors, pronounced Dye-cro-ick)
If you take the pendants class, all glass will be pre-cut. If you take a two-week or four-week class, basic cutting techniques will be covered such as straight lines and curves. For those who have already taken a glass class, this is an opportunity to practice what you have learned. Learn more about fusing glass at different temperatures in the kiln and creating bowls and dishes with ceramic molds (called slumping). Materials fee includes glass, studio materials, and kiln usage. Tools will be provided, however you are welcome to bring your own toolbox. Classes are held in Deenie Pacik’s studio near Pawtuxet Village in Warwick.
